In the middle of winter we find ourselves enjoying the occasional daydream about summer. Of course, the opposite happens in the heat of summer. I suppose this could be a warning sign that we are seeking what we can't have, but we think of it differently. We prefer to think of this daydreaming as a cycle of positive motivation. In other words, while we are enjoying all that winter has to offer we can be motivated to prepare for the coming of the next season of adventure. Perhaps a quick check of the state of our hiking shorts and sun hat (will they go another season?). Where will our big paddling trip be this year? Hey, it's OK to spend a few minutes planning for the next season - just don't do it when you should be skiing!
