Dent Blanche first ski descent (Swiss Alps) - Exped along for the ride

We know it’s summer, but they still exist, the intrepid ski enthusiasts with an addiction for the exclusive and an eye for the (im)possible. Exped gear tester Gilles Sierro, together with Olivier Roduit and Yannick Pralong – all Valais mountain guides – took advantage of the rather unusual snow conditions in the alps right now. They went for an incredible direct route down the Dent Blanche (4357 m), the WSW-Couloir (up to 60°) which under normal circumstances is not a bad ice climb for not-so-bad ice climbers.
Exped joined the ride, though only on their backs with a prototype of the Glissade 25 ski pack which will be available in March 2014 at retailers near you. And the Mountain Pro 30 (also coming in 2014), that has seen countless similar adventures, also proved its worth once again.
